Elaine & Ice

An August Equine Photoshoot with a western theme.

Before every photoshoot I ask my clients to complete a questionnaire to help me plan their photoshoot. One thing I remember from Elaine's is this "Sorry for his naughty bits In advance". I find lots of clients worry about how their horse will behave and in most cases, including Elaine's, Ice was a great model!

As you can see Ice had a stunning mane, and I was so excited to photograph him. Elaine had mentioned how she loved a western look and I really enjoyed capturing it. A simple thing such as a hat as an accessory can give a whole new look to photos. In this case we used Elaine's hat as a prop, either being worn, held and even Ice modelled it nicely.

The location for this photoshoot was an old farm, offering rustic backdrops for this photoshoot, from brick buildings, wooden fencing, a quite country lane and even a tractor! I asked Elaine why she wanted and photoshoot and she said: "Ice is the first horse I've backed, as he's only 4 and he's going to be with me for my entire life so having these photos is more special".

What Elaine had to say about her photoshoot.

"Fantastic experience with a very patient Stephanie. I’ve waited years to have this done basically through worry and I need not have waited so long it was a brilliant morning……thank you for putting me as ease and reassuring me all the way through."
