ABOUT SR PHOTOS
Firstly, what is SR Photos? Well SR Photos is me, Steph, a photographer who specialises in equine and pet photography. The SR is simply the initials of my first and middle name. I didn’t use my last name as I knew I’d have to change it if I got married, and I did, so it was good planning! It is just me and my camera (sometimes my husband helps too!) creating photos that you will cherish. I offer photoshoot experiences for you to have with your horse, dog or even rabbit! Yes, I said rabbit.
Even though my focus is equine and canine we all have different pets we love and I will turn my camera to any type of pet (maybe not spiders!). I am honoured when I am asked to photograph your four-legged friends and I'd be delighted to talk to you about your specific requirements, so please do get in touch and we can have a chat.
ABOUT ME
I live in Burton-on-Trent with my husband Daniel, our Jack Russel Eddie, and our two rabbits, Wini & Harry (now you see where the rabbit bit comes from!). I have always been around horses, and expected to have a career in equine, however I never expected it being equine photography. Long story short after working directly with horse’s I decided it wasn’t for me and felt a little astray. Therefore, I looked into local courses and one thing I always enjoyed doing was taking photos. So, I did my extended diploma in photography, then my degree and noticed a trend in my photos, they were equine of course!
During college and University I soon realised I needed to earn a living, therefore I got a part time job at a local equestrian centre in their retail store. Fast forward 8 years and I’ve progressed to Ecommerce & Marketing Executive, making use of those photography skills. This is my full-time position, alongside my part time role as a professional photographer, as SR Photos.
So how about some facts about me! I’ve recently turned the big 30 which was scary. Alongside photography I love gardening, and during covid I got a keen interest in wildlife photography, so you’ll often find me on country walks. I first rode a horse when I was four and didn’t stop until after leaving my job at a riding school. I have ridden intermittently since then, loaning and riding friend’s horse’s but I have never owned my own purely because of the commitment.
I have always owned rabbits, they are fun, cheeky animals with great characters, and will often feature in my photography. When I got together with my now husband, I also became Mum to his amazing Jack Russel Matty (pictured here with my husband and myself). Sadly we lost Matty recently to cancer, but you will see him in so many of my photos, he did love to pose! As many of you know pet’s leave a huge hole when they go, especially when it’s unexpected. So we made the decision to bring a new dog into our home, Eddie a 10 week Jack Russell puppy. I’m sure Eddie will start to appear in my photography soon.
