3d week – day two

November 17th, 2009 Steve

Unfortunately I missed tonight’s 3d footage on Channel 4, but from reading the various tweets, it sounds like there was more impressive footage than there was last night. On the subject of last night’s 3d footage, some of it is now available online through the 4 On Demand service.

It was interesting to see the complete lack of interest in the 3d footage from today’s papers; it was certainly a different story at work. Most people enjoyed the 3d effect, especially the more modern footage, but didn’t like the glasses. Roll on the next generation of 3d where the glasses are no longer needed.

In other related 3d news, I noticed that Classic Rock magazine have gone with a 3d lenticular cover for the December issue. This is a great way of viewing 3d images without glasses, as the ridged film of plastic over the image makes sure that your left and right eyes see different images. I saw the magazine on the shelf at the train station, and it’s reminded me that I have to get some lenticular prints of some of my 3d work!
